HISTÓRIA DO ENSINO SUPERIOR NO BRASIL: COLÔNIA E IMPÉRIO HISTORY OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN BRAZIL: COLONY AND EMPIRE
Essa pesquisa tem como objetivo descrever o percurso histórico do Ensino Superior no Brasil, dentre os períodos do Brasil Colônia e Império, analisando os desafios e as conquistas que proporcionaram aos brasileiros o acesso ao ensino superior. A metodologia adotada para a realização desse estudo foi a pesquisa bibliográfica realizada nas bases de dados científicos e nas obras de Saviani (2010), Nagle (1974), Cunha (1986) dentre outros. Os resultados obtidos ao fim desse levantamento historiográfico apontam o atraso para a implantação do ensino superior no país, além da presença de uma ideologia do acesso à universidade das classes mais privilegiadas economicamente. As consequências do atraso na instalação e na ideologia do acesso à universidade são diversas dentre elas são o aumento das desigualdades sociais, a seletividade das Instituições nacionais de ensino superior e a desigualdade dos investimentos em instituições de ensino públicos e privados.

Abstract:
This research aims to describe the historical course of Higher Education in Brazil, between the periods of Colonial Brazil and the Empire, analyzing the challenges and achievements that provided Brazilians with access to higher education. The methodology adopted to carry out this study was the bibliographic research carried out in scientific databases and in the works of Saviani (2010), Nagle (1974), Cunha (1986) among others. The results obtained at the end of this historiographical survey point to the delay in the implementation of higher education in the country, in addition to the presence of an ideology of access to the university of the most economically privileged classes. The consequences of the delay in the installation and in the ideology of access to the university are diverse, among them are the increase in social inequalities, the selectivity of national higher education institutions and the inequality of investments in public and private educational institutions.
