A hipertensão arterial e o diabetes mellitus representam parcela importante nas estatísticas de internações, morbidade e mortalidade da população, além de serem responsáveis por gerar e/ou agravar outras doenças crônicas, impactando diretamente a saúde da população e a economia devido ao grande gasto financeiro que gera ao Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Neste contexto, o livro aborda de forma ampla ambas as morbidades, com o intuito de fornecer subsídios ao aprimoramento de estratégias que promovam seu controle e consequente melhora dos resultados em saúde na população.

Abstract:
Hypertension and diabetes mellitus represent an important part of the population's hospitalization, morbidity and mortality statistics, in addition to being responsible for generating and/or aggravating other chronic diseases, directly impacting the health of the population and the economy due to the large financial expense that generates the Unified Health System (SUS). In this context, the book broadly addresses both morbidities, with the aim of providing subsidies for the improvement of strategies that promote their control and the consequent improvement in health outcomes in the population.
