HIGIENE ORAL AO PACIENTE HOSPITALIZADO: VISÃO DA ENFERMAGEM
Objetivo: analisar a visão, a importância e os fatores que interferem na higiene oral adequada ao paciente hospitalizado, na perspectiva de enfermeiros, técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem. Método: Pesquisa de campo e qualitativa, realizada em um hospital escola do interior paulista com 16 participantes. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com duas perguntas abertas sobre a percepção, importância e fatores que interferem na realização da higiene oral. A interpretação foi desenvolvida por meio da Técnica de Análise de Conteúdo na modalidade temática. Resultados: da análise emergiram duas categorias temáticas: 1. Importância da higiene oral - apontam a organização e rotina e os materiais utilizados nesse cuidado e 2. Fatores que favorecem e que prejudicam a realização da higiene oral – alegam prioritariamente, falta de material e de recursos humanos para realização da higiene oral. Conclusões: A equipe de enfermagem reconhece a importância da higiene oral para saúde integral do ser humano e aponta também as dificuldades encontradas para a realização desta atividade.

Abstract:
Objective: analyze the vision, the importance and the factors that interfere in adequate oral hygiene for hospitalized patients, from the perspective of nurses, technicians and nursing assistants. Method: Field and qualitative research, carried out in a teaching hospital in the interior of São Paulo with 16 participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with two open-ended questions about perception, importance and factors that interfere with oral hygiene. Interpretation was developed using the Content Analysis Technique in the thematic modality. Results: two thematic categories emerged from the analysis: 1. Importance of oral hygiene - points out the organization and routine and the materials used in this care and 2. Factors that favor and hinder the performance of oral hygiene - they claim, primarily, lack of material and human resources to perform oral hygiene. Conclusions: The nursing team recognizes the importance of oral hygiene for the integral health of human beings and also points out the difficulties encountered in carrying out this activity.
