Abstract: This study aimed to determine the influence of a collaborative approach on the process of developing argumentative essays and oral presentations in future teachers. The research was qualitative with a descriptive scope. The sample was 40 Chilean university students of language pedagogy, selected through unintentional probabilistic sampling. The collection of information was carried out through a semi-structured interview, whose focus of analysis allowed us to gather information about the implementation of collaborative work in the production of an academic essay and its subsequent oral presentation. The methodology approached in the development of the learning experience considered the axes of orality and writing in an integrated manner. The results revealed that, for a successful implementation of collaborative work, effective communication between group members becomes essential, driven by the capacity for dialogue, empathy, and strategic consensus. These findings have important implications in the educational field, since the simultaneous integration of the axes of orality and writing in the pedagogical methodology suggests a holistic approach to the development of effective strategic communication. In general terms, the need to integrate collaborative strategies in teacher training programs is evident, considering reflection on group dynamics, to strengthen the capacity for dialogue and consensus among future teachers.
