GRUPO PET-GEOLOGIA E O MUSEU DE GEOCIÊNCIAS NA ATUALIZAÇÃO DO PROJETO PEDAGÓGICO DO CURSO DE GEOLOGIA DA UFPA
O Grupo PET-GEOLOGIA, dentro
Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET-convênio
UFPA/MEC/INEP), está pautado nos três pilares
fundamentais da educação: ensino, pesquisa
e extensão, com atividades que pretendem
manter uma interdisciplinaridade entre esses
três pilares. O programa visa preencher uma
lacuna na formação de inteligências regionais
nas áreas das Ciências da Terra com destaque
especial na mineralogia aplicada, objetivando
disseminar o conhecimento para futuros
profissionais que atuarão no desenvolvimento
do setor mineral regional. O Curso de Geologia
do Instituto de Geociências da UFPA sempre
buscou aproximar o futuro profissional
da realidade técnico-científica da região
amazônica, principalmente com implantação no
atual Projeto Pedagógico. Assim, o Grupo PETGEOLOGIA
tem como objetivo maior integrar e
estimular o aluno a vivenciar o curso desde o
seu ingresso e ao longo de sua permanência,
seja através de grupos de pesquisa, de
aprimoramento do conhecimento ou de qualquer
outro meio. É necessário conscientizar o aluno
de que ele é parte integrante da estrutura do
curso e que a sua melhoria reflete também na
melhoria do Curso de Geologia e da UFPA.
Esta condição é bem executada pelo Museu
de Geociências da UFPA que tem um forte
compromisso com o desenvolvimento regional,
que se materializa em uma intensa atividade
de pesquisa, ensino e extensão. Além disso, o
Grupo PET-GEOLOGIA no âmbito do museu e
da mineralogia aplicada colabora com a troca
de saber e de experiências entre a comunidade
acadêmica e o público externo, por meio de
projetos de pesquisas, ensino e extensão

Abstract:
The PET-GEOLOGY Group,
within the Tutorial Education Program (PETagreement
UFPA/MEC/INEP), is based on the
three fundamental pillars of education: teaching,
research and extension, with activities that
intend to maintain an interdisciplinarity between
these three pillars. The program aims to fill a
gap in the formation of regional intelligences
in the Earth Sciences areas with special emphasis at applied mineralogy, aiming to
disseminate the knowledge to future professionals who will work in the development
of the regional mineral sector. The Geology Course of the Institute of Geosciences of
UFPA has always aimed to bring the professional future closer to the technical and
scientific reality of the Amazon region, mainly with the current Pedagogical Project
implementation. Hence, the PET-GEOLOGY Group’s main objective is to integrate
and stimulate the student to experience the course from its entrance and throughout
its stay, whether through research groups, improvement of knowledge or any other
means. It is necessary to make the student aware that it is an integral part of the
structure of the course and that its improvement also reflects on the improvement of the
Geology Course and the university. This condition is well executed by the Geosciences
Museum of UFPA that has a strong commitment to the regional development, which
materializes in an intense research, teaching and extension activities. Besides, the
PET-GEOLOGY Group within the museum and applied mineralogy scope, collaborates
with the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the academic community
and the external public, through projects of research, teaching and extension.
