Abstract: This article examines the challenges and strategies of pedagogical management in Distance Education (DE), with an emphasis on the integration of teacher mediation, pedagogical planning, and learning assessment. The study employed a bibliographic approach and documentary analysis of recent regulations, including institutional data and results from the 2022 Enade exam, allowing an understanding of how coordinated pedagogical practices can influence teaching quality and student engagement. The findings indicate that active teacher mediation, combined with integrated planning and continuous, diversified assessments — including in-person exams, collaborative projects, practical activities, and self-assessment mechanisms — is crucial for fostering meaningful learning, educational inclusion, and reducing dropout rates. Furthermore, the study highlights the relevance of educational technologies and individualized process monitoring, which enable structured feedback, personalized learning, and the development of essential student competencies. It is concluded that effective pedagogical management in DE requires the articulation of teacher training, strategic planning, and process-oriented assessment, promoting innovative and consistent practices that enhance educational outcomes and consolidate the quality of distance learning.
