GESTÃO INTEGRADA E SUSTENTÁVEL DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS URBANOS E SUA IMPORTÂNCIA NO CONTROLE DO AEDES AEGYPTI E DE ARBOVIROSES NO BRASIL
O manejo inadequado dos resíduos sólidos tem contribuído no Brasil para o armazenamento de água em vasilhames descartados no ambiente facilitando a reprodução do mosquito Aedes aegypti, principal transmissor de arboviroses. O capítulo, baseado em revisão bibliográfica integrativa e crítica, apresenta o modelo conceitual e a importância da Gestão Integrada e Sustentável dos Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos (GISRSU) em tempos de proliferação do mosquito Aedes aegypti, visando contribuir para evitar ou reduzir o impacto negativo das arboviroses transmitidas por esse inseto vetor no País.

Abstract:
The inadequate management of solid waste has contributed in Brazil to the storage of water in containers discarded in the environment, facilitating the reproduction of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the main transmitter of arboviruses. The chapter, based on an integrative and critical bibliographic review, presents the conceptual model and the importance of Integrated and Sustainable Management of Urban Solid Waste in times of proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, aiming to contribute to avoid or reduce the negative impact of arboviruses transmitted by this vector insect in the country.
