  • Abstract: This article critically analyzes the implementation of internal controls within the Military Police forces in Brazil, considering legal, administrative, and cultural aspects. Based on a theoretical review and case studies, it presents the main challenges faced, as well as opportunities for improving governance and institutional efficiency. The study highlights the importance of internal auditing, ombudsman services, and risk management as essential tools to ensure transparency, legality, and effectiveness in police operations.
