Abstract: The revitalization of offshore oil platforms involves high technical, logistical and operational complexity, especially when aging units must maintain production continuity while complying with safety, integrity and regulatory requirements. In this context, this paper analyzes how risk management contributes to reducing operational impacts, improving safety and increasing efficiency in offshore platform revitalization projects supported by flotels. The research is applied, qualitative, exploratory and descriptive, based on a case study, literature review and documentary analysis of a maintenance and revitalization project on a platform located in the Campos Basin, Brazil. Constraints related to onboard accommodation, deck space, material logistics, simultaneous activities, schedule, supplies, weather conditions, safety and operational integrity were examined. The results indicate that the combined use of a risk management plan, preliminary risk analysis, probability-impact matrix, frequency and consequence classification and risk response strategies enables the prioritization of critical threats, the structuring of mitigation actions and the strengthening of continuous monitoring. The study identified 63 potential hazards, mainly classified as moderate or non-tolerable. It is concluded that systematic risk management is essential to increase reliability, predictability and safety in offshore campaigns supported by flotels, contributing to more robust decision-making and optimization of invested resources.
