GEOGRAFIA E ARTE: REPRESENTAÇÕES EM ALGUMAS PAISAGENS CABRALINAS
Este trabalho tem por objetivo
apresentar um diálogo existente entre
Geografia e Literatura, o objeto de estudo da
ciência geográfica pode ser encontrado em
contos, poemas, romances e entre outros
textos literários. Essas questões nos conduzem
a esse caminho dialético entre Ciência e arte
e apresenta elementos de contribuições que
sustentam o objeto da presente pesquisa, sem,
contudo, confundir as áreas que porque não
queremos tratar de uma “[...] “geografização”
de obras literárias nem de uma “literaturização”
das temáticas geográficas” (CASTRO, 2010,
p. 51, grifos do autor). O estudo da Geografia
problematizado a partir da arte chama
atenção dos geógrafos desde muito tempo,
como escreve Marandola Jr e Gratão (2010),
ensinando que especialmente a literatura tem
sido o melhor aporte para esses cientistas.
Com intuito em estudar categorias como:
região, paisagem e lugar, compreendendoos sob à luz subjetiva dos escritores/poetas,
“Assim o fizeram John K. Wright (1924), Pierre
Monbeig (1940), Fernando Segismundo (1949)
e Yi-Fu Tuan (1947), para citar apenas alguns”
(MARANDOLA JR; GRATÃO, 2010, p. 8). No
Brasil esse estudo também se desenvolve há
alguns anos, com vários trabalhos e dentre eles
podemos apontar alguns. Nesse sentido, este
trabalho, articula no âmbito geográfico algumas
reflexões cognoscíveis que representem a
realidade por meio da tênue linha que a separa
da ficção, percebendo e identificando as
tessituras textuais das paisagens cabralinas ao
longo do Capibaribe.

Abstract:
This paper aims to present an
existing dialogue between Geography and
Literature, the object of study of geographic
science can be found in short stories, poems,
novels and other literary texts. These questions
lead us to this dialectical path between Science
and art and presents elements of contributions
that support the object of the present research,
without, however, confusing the areas that
we do not want to deal with a “... geography”
of works literary or “literaturization” of the
geographical themes “(CASTRO, 2010, page
51, emphasis added). The study of Geography
problematized from the art has caught the attention of geographers since a long time,
as Marandola Jr and Gratão (2010) writes, teaching that especially literature has been
the best contribution for these scientists. In order to study categories such as: region,
landscape and place, understanding them under the subjective light of the writers /
poets, “So did John K. Wright (1924), Pierre Monbeig (1940), Fernando Segismundo
(1949), and Yi -Fu Tuan (1947), to name but a few “(MARANDOLA JR, GRATÃO, 2010,
p.8). In Brazil, this study also develops for some years, with several works and among
them we can point out some. In this sense, this work articulates in the geographical
scope some knowable reflections that represent the reality through the tenuous line
that separates it from the fiction, perceiving and identifying the textual tessitures of
Cabraline landscapes along Capibaribe.
