GÊNERO E ARTE: A PRODUÇÃO ARTÍSTICA DE MULHERES PINTORAS NO SURREALISMO
O movimento artístico do Surrealismo emergiu em 1920, com objetivo de representar os sentimentos e pensamentos sem o julgamento da lógica/razão ou de qualquer preocupação moral e/ou estética. A despeito da quantidade de obras e artistas na área, a memória do movimento é composta basicamente de artistas do gênero masculino, com exceção do nome consagrado de Frida Khalo. A partir disso, esse trabalho tem como objetivo a análise das obras de três artistas surrealistas: Remedios Varo (1908-1963), Dorothea Tanning (1920-2012) e Leonor Fini (1907-1996). Busca-se compreender de que modo o gênero influenciou a produção artística dessas pintoras, apresentar os principais temas tratados por elas e examinar a imagem representada das mulheres. A análise se fez a partir da seleção de obras das três artistas que mais possibilitam os estudos de gênero, com base nas seguintes categorias: poder, emoções e maternidade. Observou-se que os temas tiveram abordagem específica, em decorrência da autoria das obras, da especificidade de gênero e das percepções de mundo das artistas, promovendo maior valorização e visibilidade às questões que tratam das mulheres.

Abstract:
The artistic movement of Surrealism emerged in 1920, with the aim of representing feelings and thoughts without the logical judgement/reason or any moral and/or aesthetic concerns. Despite the number of works and artists in the area, the movement’s memory is basically composed of male artists, except for the renowned name of Frida Khalo. Based on this, the work aims to analyze the works of three surrealist artists: Remedios Varo (1908-1963), Dorothea Tanning (1950-2012) and Leonor Fini (1907-1996). It seeks to understand how gender influenced the artistic production of these painters, to present the main themes treated by them and examine the represented image of women, The analysis was made based on the selection of works by the three artists that make gender atudies more possible, based on the following categories: Power, Emotions and Motherhood. It was observed that the themes had a specific approach, due to the authorship of the works, the gender specificity and the perceptions of the artists’ world, promoting greater appreciation and visibility to the issues related to women.
