GEIROSC - GRUPO DE ESTUDOS SOBRE IMIGRAÇÕES PARA A REGIÃO OESTE DE SANTA CATARINA: APOIO E ATENDIMENTO AO MIGRANTE
O presente artigo tem por objetivo
apresentar as pesquisas e as ações realizadas
pelo Grupo de Estudos sobre Imigrações para
a Região Oeste de Santa Catarina – GEIROSC.
O grupo, caracteriza-se por ser interdisciplinar,
está ligado à Diretoria de Políticas de
Graduação da Pró-reitoria de Graduação da
Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul – UFFS,
foi institucionalizado em abril de 2014, em
virtude da carência de estudos e discussões
sobre os fluxos migratórios recentes na cidade
de Chapecó e região Oeste de SC, mais
precisamente, com a chegada de imigrantes
haitianos no ano de 2011. O GEIROSC
compreende um espaço de diálogo, reflexão,
troca de experiências e sensibilização quanto
à questão do desafio da mobilidade humana na
contemporaneidade. As pesquisas realizadas
buscam por respostas sobre o fenômeno da
imigração e do refúgio que tem sido constante
no Brasil e identifica a deficiência de políticas
públicas que garantam direitos a este segmento.
As ações promovidas têm por intuito a integração
com a comunidade para fomentar uma cultura
de respeito às diversidades e tem ainda por
viés as temáticas da educação, da cidadania,
dos direitos humanos e da fraternidade.

Abstract:
This article aims to present the
research and actions carried out by the Study.
Group on Immigration for the Western Region of
Santa Catarina - GEIROSC. The group, which
is characterized by being interdisciplinary, is
linked to the Graduation Policy. Directorate of
the Federal University of the Southern Frontier
- UFFS, was institutionalized in April 2014, due
to the lack of studies and discussions about the
Recent migratory flows. in the city of Chapecó
and the western region of SC, more precisely,
with the arrival of Haitian immigrants in 2011.
GEIROSC includes a space for dialogue,
reflection, exchange of experiences and to
build awareness about the challenge of human
mobility in contemporaneity. The group search for answers about the phenomenon
of immigration and refugee that has been constant in Brazil and the identification of
the deficiency of public policies that guarantee rights to this segment. The actions
promoted are intended to integrate these people in the community to foster a culture of
respect for diversity and also have as their bias the themes of education, citizenship,
human rights and fraternity.
