"FUTEBOL, POLÍTICA E CULTURA NO CONTO “JÁ PODEIS DA PÁTRIA FILHOS”, DE JOÃO UBALDO RIBEIRO”
Este trabalho se dedica à obra do escritor baiano João Ubaldo Ribeiro, conhecido pela capacidade de combinar expressões e temáticas populares em narrativas passíveis de oferecer uma visão aguda de aspectos étnicos, políticos e sociais. No presente, foco no conto “Já podeis da pátria filhos”, do livro homônimo lançado em 1981, escolhido pela maestria com que aborda um forte ingrediente da cultura brasileira: o futebol. Verifico de que maneira os elementos textuais possibilitam a perspectivação das relações entre os personagens, cujo pertencimento a nacionalidades diferentes ajuda a lançar luzes sobre as diferenças entre o Brasil e o resto do mundo.

Abstract:
This work is dedicated to the work of the Bahian writer João Ubaldo Ribeiro, known for his ability to combine expressions and popular themes in narratives that can offer a sharp view of ethnic, political and social aspects. At present, I focus on the short story “Already you can from the homeland children”, from the eponymous book released in 1981, chosen by the mastery with which it addresses a strong ingredient of Brazilian culture: football. I see how the textual elements enable the perspective of the relationships between the characters, whose belonging to different nationalities helps to shed light on the differences between Brazil and the rest of the world.
