Abstract: This chapter addresses the functionality and rehabilitation of patients with Long COVID Syndrome, based on the biopsychosocial model and its practical application using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF). The research focuses on the musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, highlighting the significant impact of Long COVID on functional capacity and quality of life. Common persistent symptoms include extreme fatigue, respiratory difficulties, cognitive impairments, muscle weakness, and postural instability, which directly affect patients' daily activities and social participation. The methodology involves reviewing clinical guidelines and rehabilitation studies, emphasizing personalized physiotherapeutic interventions. The biopsychosocial model and the ICF provide a holistic understanding of patients' conditions, facilitating the development of more effective therapeutic strategies. Progressive resistance exercises, supervised aerobic training, and nutritional support are recommended to mitigate muscle loss and restore functionality. Continuous monitoring of vital parameters, especially in patients with cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunctions, is crucial to ensure safety during rehabilitation. The results demonstrate that interdisciplinary, interprofessional, and personalized approaches are effective in the recovery of Long COVID patients. Techniques such as inspiratory muscle training and neurofunctional rehabilitation showed improvements in respiratory and sensory variables, including reduced dyspnea and recovery of olfactory and gustatory functions. Additionally, the chapter emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health, given the significant correlation between psychological distress and physical disability. The conclusion suggests that rehabilitation for these patients should be tailored to their individual needs, using an integrated and holistic approach that considers physical, psychological, and social aspects to achieve full recovery of functionality.
