Abstract: Health Education is a dynamic, continuous and permanent process that aims at the formation and development of individuals' critical awareness, stimulating the search for distinct and at the same time collective solutions to health issues. Educational actions play a fundamental role in Primary Health Care, as they enable health professionals to mediate with the community, offering subsidies for the adoption of new habits and behaviors. This work aims to know the weaknesses and strengths in health education from the perspective of health professionals. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative-qualitative approach carried out with 20 health professionals from the city of Petrolina-PE, Brazil. The results showed that most of the interviewees did not experience or delve into the aspect of Health Education, even recognizing its importance. Regarding weaknesses found for the development of activities, professionals declared the scarcity of supplies, inassiduity and irregular participation of users, in addition to impaired interpersonal relationships. Finally, the professionals interviewed recognize that an educational action is a unique opportunity to contemplate users in their entirety. In view of the results of the present investigation, it can be concluded that it is necessary to advance in terms of Health Education practices and how essential it is to implement spaces of permanent education for professionals, since they have recognized its importance and the need for this improvement.
