Abstract: This article focuses on reflecting on the role of photography in the teaching of Visual Arts, based on an artistic-teaching experience supported by didactic materials developed in a previous study. The material proposes creative pathways in which students are invited to engage in photography through activities of observation, image manipulation, and spatial appropriation. Each pathway is designed to establish a dialogue with central concepts from the works of a previously selected artist, promoting connections between theory and practice. The article also addresses the experiences lived throughout the teaching-learning process in art, highlighting the potential of using didactic-pedagogical materials and educational publications in the classroom, while further reflecting on the role of photography in Visual Arts education.
