Abstract: Acne vulgaris is a skin disease capable of affecting the pilosebaceous unit of the skin, causing several harmful effects, ranging from physical to psychological damage. Treatment can be carried out with retinoids and antimicrobials, which have comedolytic and antibacterial functions, respectively. In the search for natural active compounds with biological functions, sophorolipids produced by Starmerella bombicola have emerged, as they exhibit low cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activity against Cutibacterium acnes, making them an alternative for this condition. Copaiba oil is a bioactive compound with healing and anti-inflammatory properties, which may represent an important differential when associated with sophorolipids in the treatment of this condition.
