Abstract: This study examines the formative path of teachers from the municipal school system of Balsas – Maranhão in order to implement hybrid teaching in every elementary school. This is an exploratory- descriptive qualitative study, which aims to gather information about the motivation and skills developed by the teachers of Balsas’ municipal system, during the educational process, under the responsibility of the State University of Maranhao (UEMA), through its Center of Technologies for Education. The analysis was based on the data and information collected in the VLE, and in the Reports of the Educational Design Team and Teacher-Mediators, anchored in renowned authors with studies and research recently developed on the theme in question. The results point to the necessity and urgency of considering teacher training in this new pedagogical context, as hybrid education cannot be confused as an education modality, but, in a flexible methodological perspective, as the mediation of digital technologies, integrating in-person and distance learning.
