Fauna e flora fantástica na França Antártica (1555-1560)
O artigo tem como objetivo analisar os relatos da fauna e flora nas obras de André Thevet e Jean de Léry em que narraram as viagens que fizeram a Baia de Guanabara durante a França Antártica (1555-1560).
Nesses relatos há uma enorme preocupação em narrar as novidades, com particular ênfase na fauna e na flora, incluindo os tupinambá e seus costumes. Com ênfase nas descrições da fauna, procuramos demonstrar o contexto social e político dos autores, bem como refletir sobre o impacto dessas obras no imaginário dos leitores da época e um possível combustível para novas personagens das descrições fantásticas que alimentavam o imaginário europeu no século XVI.

Abstract:
The article aims to analyze the accounts of fauna and flora in the works of André Thevet and Jean de Léry in which they narrated their journeys to Baia de Guanabara during the Antarctic France (1555-1560).
In these accounts, there is an enormous concern in narrating the news, with particular emphasis on fauna and flora, including the tupinambá and their customs. With emphasis on the descriptions of the fauna, we seek to demonstrate the social and political context of the authors, as well as reflect on the impact of these works on the imaginary of the readers of the time and a possible fuel for new characters of the fantastic descriptions that fed the European imaginary in the sixteenth century.
