FATORES ENVOLVIDOS NA EFICÁCIA DO TRATAMENTO DO HIPOTIREOIDISMO CONGÊNITO: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA.
O Hipotireoidismo Congênito é uma entidade crônica, rara, que acomete, em
sua maioria, recém-nascidos do sexo feminino. É caracterizada por uma
deficiência dos hormônios tireoidianos detectada pela triagem neonatal. Uma
abordagem nos primeiros 5 dias de nascimento é crucial, pois os sintomas nos
primeiros meses de vida são inespecíficos. Quando o tratamento não é
instituído, as sequelas são graves. Este estudo reúne pesquisas, realizadas em
artigos publicados entre 2005 e 2018, sobre o tema. A partir dos artigos
conclui-se que, mesmo com a terapia sendo realizada precocemente, outros
fatores estão envolvidos na efetividade do tratamento. O tema é amplamente
divulgado na literatura, mas pouco conhecido na sociedade. Entre os sintomas
agudos do problema estão: icterícia, irritabilidade e recusa das mamadas, a
longo prazo: déficit cognitivo e motor.

Abstract:
Congenital Hypothyroidism is a rare, chronic entity that affects mostly female
newborns. It is characterized by a deficiency of thyroid hormones detected by
neonatal screening. An approach in the first 5 days of birth is crucial, as the
symptoms in the first months of life are nonspecific. When treatment is not
instituted, the sequelae are severe. This study gathers research, carried out in
articles published between 2005 and 2018, on the theme. From the articles it is
concluded that, even with the therapy being performed early, other factors are
involved in the effectiveness of the treatment. The topic is widely reported in the
literature, but little known in society. Among the acute symptoms of the problem
are: jaundice, irritability and refusal of feedings, in the long run: cognitive and
motor deficit.
