Abstract: This article discusses the recent amendment to Regulatory Standard No. 1 (NR-1), which, starting May 26, 2025, will require Brazilian companies to formally include the management of psychosocial risks in their Risk Management Programs (PGR). It recognizes the critical role of mental health in the workplace, highlighting factors such as workload, workplace harassment, job insecurity, and interpersonal conflicts. Internationally, major companies (Unilever, SAP, Google) have reported significant reductions in absenteeism and increases in productivity following the introduction of well-being programs. In Brazil, however, data from Social Security indicates a worrying rise in work leaves due to psychological disorders, underscoring the need for proactive measures. To address this challenge, the article recommends a thorough psychosocial assessment, ongoing leadership training, creation of safe communication channels, regular monitoring of work leaves, systematic evaluation of mental health indicators, and the promotion of healthy practices. In conclusion, the article emphasizes that beyond meeting legal requirements, investing in mental health delivers competitive advantages, strengthens corporate reputation, and fosters a more human and productive work environment
