Abstract: Objective: To analyze the cardiometabolic and behavioral risks of users of the Unified Health System who are waiting to undergo bariatric surgery. Methods: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional study, carried out with individuals aged 18 to 59 years who are waiting in the queue for the procedure to be performed. Results: The study included 34 users. Regarding life habits, physical inactivity (82.4%), inappropriate eating behavior (76.5%), absence of leisure (70.6%), sitting work (44.1%) and use of own vehicle for transportation (67.6%). As for comorbidities, there was a higher rate in Systemic Arterial Hypertension with 47.1%, followed by Diabetes Mellitus with 26.5%. Conclusion: It is concluded that cardiometabolic and behavioral risk factors are present in the routine of users awaiting bariatric surgery, highlighting the importance of clinical investigation to assess the safety of the surgical procedure.
