Abstract: Objective: To investigate the factors associated with the presence and levels of anxiety in university students in the healthcare field. Methodology: This narrative review examines the factors contributing to anxiety among these students, following the PICo strategy. Results: Multiple factors exacerbating anxiety in students were identified, including course satisfaction, quality of interpersonal relationships, gender and age variations, lifestyle habits, academic stress, psychosocial and economic factors, clinical experiences, evaluation pressures, and the use of psychoactive stimulants. Final considerations: There is a need for specific support strategies for this group, given the prevalence of anxiety symptoms and the influence of variables such as age, gender, lifestyle habits, academic pressures, and practical experiences. The adoption of holistic approaches, including psychological support, pedagogical assistance, and socioeconomic support, is considered essential for improving mental health.
