Abstract: Contemporary pharmacy is undergoing a global process of redefinition, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing itself as a key link between citizens and the healthcare system. This article presents a narrative reflection on the transition from the traditional pharmacy model to a comprehensive care platform, focusing on the Brazilian context. Based on an analysis of the U.S. model and current Brazilian health regulations, the social role of pharmacies is discussed, including their involvement in vaccination, rapid testing, and health education, as well as their impact on population access and sector reconfiguration. The article also addresses regulatory challenges, consumer behavior data, and future perspectives for consolidating pharmacies as a strategic part of primary healthcare.
