FAMÍLIAS MONOPARENTAIS E A FEMINIZAÇÃO DA POBREZA
Este artigo tem como objetivo
realizar uma aproximação teórica entre a
categoria gênero e pobreza. Faz uma breve
contextualização sobre o conceito de família
enfocando sobre as famílias monoparentais
chefiadas por mulheres, as quais apresentam
maior índice de pobreza se comparada as
famílias chefiadas por homens, fenômeno este
denominado feminização da pobreza. Como
metodologia de pesquisa utilizou-se de pesquisa
bibliográfica, a qual se fundamenta a partir do
conhecimento disponível, principalmente de
livros e artigos científicos, tem a finalidade de
ampliar o conhecimento na área, depois utilizálo
como modelo teórico que dará sustentação
a outros estudos. Destaca-se no artigo que
as famílias em condição de pobreza utilizam
a rede de solidariedade e vizinhança, como
estratégia de sobrevivência, como também, traz
para a discussão o recorte de gênero utilizado
nas políticas públicas as quais baseiam-se
na focalização da mulher objetivando garantir
maior eficiência às políticas de combate à
pobreza, seja pela presença da mulher nos
assuntos ligados à moradia e ao bairro, seja
por sua presença significativa na população
mais pobre, seja por seu papel desempenhado
na família.

Abstract:
This article aims at a theoretical
approach between the category of gender and
poverty. It makes a brief contextualization about
the concept of family focusing on single parent
families headed by women, which present a
higher index of poverty when compared to
the families headed by men, a phenomenon
called feminization of poverty. As a research
methodology, a bibliographic research was
used, based on available knowledge, mainly of
books and scientific articles, with the purpose of
expanding knowledge in the area, then using it
as a theoretical model that will support others
studies. It is highlighted in the article that the
families in poverty condition use the network
of solidarity and neighborhood, as a strategy
of survival, but also brings to the discussion
the gender cut used in public policies which
are based on the targeting of women aiming
to ensure greater efficiency in policies to fight
poverty, either because of the presence of
women in housing and neighborhood issues, or
because of their significant presence in the poorest population, or because of their role
in the family.
