FAILURE REPRODUCTION BENCH IN DIGITAL SYSTEMS OF PROTECTION AND CONTROL-POWERTS

This article presents the development of the project and the assembly of a test bench, which simulates signals from electrical power equipment, with different configurations of substation arrangements, intended for testing in digital protection and control systems. The knowledge of the logics implemented in the relays and their functions are of paramount importance for carrying out tests. The performance of tests in protection and control systems brings security to the electrical power system, an improper performance or non-performance can occur undue shutdowns leading to a system collapse. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out tests, when changing settings, configuration, implementation of new logics, reproduction of faults that occur in the electrical system, safely and without risk to its users. The bench was structured with a basic infrastructure and with the aid of a test box, testing logic and protection settings, commissioning and performing maintenance on protection systems. The same can be inserted in the training of professionals, in university laboratories for practical application in protection and control systems. To validate the bench, transmission line protection tests, substation bar protection and transformer protection were carried out, and the results presented validated the bench design and development, and its feasibility of application in the academic environment and professional training.
