Abstract: This study analyzes the factors influencing the adoption of open science practices in the postgraduate programs of the Faculty of Humanities at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework. The quantitative, non-experimental, correlational research involved 37 faculty members and researchers, evaluating the dimensions of perception, training, experience, attitude, and infrastructure. The findings reveal a favorable perception of open science, particularly in terms of access to sources, scientific collaboration, and academic visibility; however, implementation is limited by the absence of institutional policies, incentives, and adequate technical conditions. Infrastructure emerged as the strongest predictor of adoption (β=0.710), followed by the practice of publishing in open access (β=0.378). The study concludes that adoption requires a comprehensive approach that integrates policies, infrastructure, and training, ensuring perceived usefulness and ease of use in order to consolídate an open academic culture.
