Abstract: In this work determination of modification factor of seismic response, R, of a 9 stories hybrid building is presented. The building is structured with two reinforced concrete nucleuses, glued laminated timber columns and cross laminated timber slabs. Each reinforced concrete nucleus is made of three walls of transverse sections in C shape. ETABS computer program is used to carry out seismic analysis of the structural model. Factor R is determined using ATC-19 method and the method of coefficients to determine the point of performance of the structure, as specified in FEMA-356. In the analysis, it is considered that non-linear deformations are produced in reinforced concrete walls, and that the timber elements, as well as connections between timber elements and between timber elements and reinforced concrete, are kept in the elastic- linear deformation rank. As a result of this study, values gotten for R are 5 and 6; moreover, it is verified that the building satisfies limitations of stories drift, prescribed by the Chilean code of buildings seismic design NCH 433.
