FÁBRICA DE ABELHAS: ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE UM SISTEMA DE CRIAÇÃO DE ABELHAS NATIVAS EM JARDIM DO SERIDÓ-RN
As abelhas apresentam grande importância ecológica e econômica, entretanto poucos estudos focam em medidas conservacionistas, principalmente para as abelhas nativas sem ferrão. Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar um sistema de criação de abelhas nativas, denominado de Fábrica de Abelhas, no município de Jardim do Seridó-RN. A pesquisa fez uma sistematização da forma de criação, observando o manejo, a alimentação artificial e a multiplicação no meliponário JANDERMM. O método usado na pesquisa foi o Estudo de Caso, com apoio de ferramentas como a entrevista, a observação, o diário de campo e a revisão de literatura. O produtor possui um método de manejo em que aumenta a produtividade na multiplicação das colmeias, com marcas que chegam a 1:87, ou seja, a partir de uma colmeia o produtor consegue outras 87 novas. Nessa perspectiva, conclui-se que, as práticas empíricas sistematizadas no método Fábrica de Abelhas, do meliponário acima citado, apresenta resultados inéditos para o bem estar animal, para a produção de mel e, notadamente, na multiplicação de colmeias. Esse conjunto de contribuições ajudam na consolidação da meliponicultura como atividade promissora para geração de renda na agricultura familiar e na conservação das abelhas nativas. Além do mais, fortalece a construção de uma forte agenda de pesquisa para diversas áreas: ambiência e bem-estar animal, nutrição e alimentação artificial de abelhas e no melhoramento genético. Pesquisas estas que podem ajudar na validação dos resultados empiricamente alcançados.

Abstract:
Bees are of great ecological and economic importance, however few studies have focused on conservation measures, especially for native stingless bees. Thus, the objective of this work was to study a system of native bee breeding, called the Bee Factory, in the municipality of Jardim do Seridó-RN. The research systematized the form of creation, observing the handling, artificial feeding and multiplication in the JANDERMM meliponary. The method used in the research was the Case Study, with the support of tools such as the interview, the observation, the field diary and the literature review. The producer has a management method in which he increases the productivity in the multiplication of the hives, with marks that reach 1:87, that is, from a hive the producer obtains another 87 new ones. In this perspective, it is concluded that the empirical practices systematized in the Fábrica de Abelhas method, from the aforementioned meliponary, presents unprecedented results for animal welfare, for the production of honey and, notably, in the multiplication of hives. This set of contributions helps to consolidate meliponiculture as a promising activity for generating income in family farming and in the conservation of native bees. In addition, it strengthens the construction of a strong research agenda for several areas: ambience and animal welfare, nutrition and artificial feeding of bees and in genetic improvement. These researches can help in the validation of the empirically achieved results.
