Extensão Universitária: papel social e formativo
O texto “Extensão Universitária: desafios sociais e formativos” apresenta resultados parciais de pesquisa desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Políticas Sociais e Cidadania, vinculado ao Grupo de Pesquisa Gestão e Avaliação de Políticas e Projetos Sociais. A discussão acerca da Extensão Universitária enquanto responsável pelo cumprimento da função social da universidade e formação do sujeito ganhou destaque no cenário acadêmico a partir das políticas relativas ao ensino superior que ditam princípios e diretrizes concernentes a essa atividade. O objetivo da investigação foi discutir o papel da Extensão Universitária no cumprimento das funções inerentes à universidade no contexto atual. Os desafios que se colocam à extensão universitária, retomam a discussão sobre o papel da universidade na sociedade e formação dos sujeitos. A metodologia da pesquisa foi a revisão sistemática e análise documental. Os documentos analisados foram a Lei 5.540 de 28 de novembro de 1968, a Lei 9.394/96 de 20 de dezembro de 1996, a Lei 13.005 de 26 de junho de 2014, e a Resolução Nº 7, de 18 de dezembro de 2018. O cumprimento da função social da universidade pode ocorrer prioritariamente por meio da extensão, tendo em vista o reconhecimento do papel dessa instituição na história da humanidade. As demandas formativas que o contexto social atual imprime à universidade requer ações que possibilitem ao aluno a compreensão da realidade que está inserido, a clareza da sua complexidade e do enfrentamento das incertezas predominantes no contexto social.

Abstract:
The text “University Extension: training and social challenges” presents partial results of a research developed while participating in a graduate Program in Social Policies and Citizenship, and as a member of the Research Group on Management and Evaluation of Social Policies and Projects. The discussion about University Extension as responsible for fulfilling the social function of the university gained prominence in the academic scenario from the policies related to higher education that dictate principles and guidelines concerning this activity. The aim of the investigation was to discuss the role of University Extension in fulfilling the functions inherent to the university in the current context. The challenges facing university extension resume the discussion about the role of the university in society and the formation of subjects. The research methodology was a systematic review and documentary analysis. The documents analyzed were Law 5,540 of November 28, 1968, Law 9,394 / 96 of December 20, 1996, Law 13,005 of June 26, 2014, and Resolution 7 of December 18, 2018. The fulfillment of the university's social function can occur primarily through extension, with a view to recognizing the role of this institution in the history of humanity. The formative demands that the current social context imposes on the university require actions that enable the student to understand the reality that is inserted, the clarity of its complexity and to face the prevailing uncertainties in the social context.
