Abstract: A action-extensionist experience developed at the Federal University of Pampa - Itaqui campus, from 2018 to 2023, focusing on strengthening family farming, is addressed. A proposal based on a dialogical and interdisciplinary perspective is presented, aiming at the interaction between scientific and traditional knowledge, while also constituting a space for contributions from various fields of knowledge, exercising interdisciplinarity. The differentiation between university extension and rural extension is made, proposing University Rural Extension, which assumes the specificity of a knowledge-sharing action that constitutes a differentiated form of action. To anchor this action perspective, Community Popular Education is proposed as a methodology, which seeks to problematize the situation experienced by the target audience and rescue traditional knowledge. A reflection on the developed process and its implications is promoted. The experienced integration between research-teaching-extension, its development form, and the results obtained are presented.
