Abstract: Teacher training is on the agenda in the context of the struggles of Rural Education for the quality of the educational process and the working conditions of the teacher. This article is the result of a scientific initiation project linked to the Federal University of Amazonas – UFAM and the research group "Canoa", which aimed to investigate the process of permanent training of teachers in rural schools, considering the educational, sociocultural and environmental reality of the rural territories of the municipality of Parintins/AM. The methodology is based on a qualitative approach, through participatory research with teachers from schools in rural communities and semi-structured interviews. It is based on authors such as Freire (2020), Arroyo (2014), Saul (2019), Silva (2018) and Hage (2009). The results present the contexts, the reality and the challenges encountered in the face of the [Digite aqui] 1 Graduanda pelo Curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal Amaazonas – UFAM, [email protected]; 2 Professora orientadora: Doutora pelo Curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal Pará – UFPA, [email protected] difficulties that is pedagogical practice in riverside communities, as well as the importance of continuing and permanent training and its articulation with the struggle for better conditions of access to knowledge by students and for better working conditions by teachers in rural schools. With this project, we hope to contribute to the dynamization of teacher training in riverside communities based on the dialogue of knowledge and experiences of the subjects of the field, waters and forests as a way to instigate the active participation of the subjects in the training process and the commitment of the public power in this area.
