EXPANSÃO RÁPIDA DA MAXILA: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
A atresia maxilar é uma deformidade da arcada superior cada vez mais presente, é caracterizada pelo estreitamento da arcada superior no sentido transversal, causando uma divergência em relação à mandíbula. A disjunção rápida da maxila é um dos meios terapêuticos utilizados no tratamento das deficiências transversais maxilares. Ela pode ser realizada com o auxílio de disjuntores palatais, que aplicam uma força produzida por tornos expansores associados a aparelhos fixos que promovem a abertura da sutura palatina mediana. Os aparelhos mais utilizados são o disjuntor de Haas (dentomucosuportado), o disjuntor de Hyrax (dentossuportado) e
o disjuntor McNamara (dentossuportado com cobertura de acrílico). Entre as indicações estão: deficiência real maxilar, deficiência relativa maxilar, atresia de bases ósseas nas dentições decídua e mista e ganho esquelético nas dimensões laterais da maxila. O objetivo do trabalho é apresentar os achados da literatura com relação à expansão rápida da maxila, abordando os aspectos clínicos, indicações, contra indicações, funções e formas de tratamentos.

Abstract:
Maxillary atresia is an increasingly present dentofacial deformity, characterized by narrowing of the upper arch in the transverse direction, causing a divergence from the mandible. Rapid disjunction of the maxilla is one of the therapeutic means used in the treatment of maxillary transverse deficiencies. It can be performed with the aid of palatal breakers, which apply a force produced by expansion lathes associated with fixed appliances that promote the opening of the medial palatine suture. The device most commonly used are the breaker Haas (dental-mucous-bone-supported), breaker hyrax (tooth-supported) and the breaker McNamara (tooth-supported with coverage acrylic). Among the indications are: deficiency real jaw, disability relative jaw, atresia base bone in teething deciduous and mixed, gain skeletal in dimen sions side of the jaw. The objective of the work is to present the findings of the literature in relation to the rapid expansion of the maxilla, addressing the clinical aspects, indications, contraindications, functions and forms of treatments.
