Abstract: This article examines processes of exclusion in rural areas from a geographical perspective, highlighting the dialectical relationship between space, power, and inequality. Drawing on authors such as Thomas Junior (2019), Fernandes (2006), and Braverman (2023), the study demonstrates how capitalism transforms the countryside into a contested territory, marked by the exploitation of natural resources, labor precarity, and the marginalization of peasant communities. The analysis reveals that the expansion of agribusiness and mining intensifies environmental degradation and the devaluation of traditional ways of life, reinforcing historical structures of domination. At the same time, strategies of resistance and (re)existence by these populations are identified, challenging the exclusionary logic of capital. The conclusion underscores that rural exclusion is a multidimensional phenomenon, requiring public policies that promote socio-environmental justice and alternatives based on collective organization and sustainability.
