Abstract: Health organizations constantly seek strategies that can be effective in providing quality services, aiming at safety, customer satisfaction and excellence in their services and care. In this sense, excellence in service in healthcare organizations has come to promote greater quality and safety for its customers as well as effectiveness, efficiency and effectiveness, using planning as an innovative tool and mechanism, transforming the way healthcare is offered globally. The objective was to understand how excellence in care occurs in a healthcare organization. This is a qualitative research, of a bibliographic nature, through which a bibliographic review of the last six years was carried out on scientific articles in the Google Scholar, Scielo and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases and analyzed in the months of December 2021 and January 2022, using the descriptors: quality of health care, health management, strategic planning and work team. As a result, it is clear that excellence is fundamental for healthcare organizations, which can be supported by technology, in addition to stakeholders, multidisciplinary teams aligned to achieve the organizational mission and continuous improvement.
