EXAMES IMAGIOLÓGICOS PARA AVALIAÇÃO HEPÁTICA EM MARITACA (PSITTACARA LEUCOPHTHALMUS): RELATO DE CASO
O Brasil é o 2o maior país em diversidade de espécies de aves do mundo, abrigando aproximadamente 1.919 espécies (1). Um dos maiores desafios dos profissionais atuantes na área de clínica de animais selvagens é o diagnóstico das enfermidades, uma vez que as aves mascaram os sinais clínicos sendo os exames imagiológicos (Raios-X e Ultrassom) fundamentais para o estabelecimento diagnóstico. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar o uso do exame radiográfico (ER) e exame ultrassonográfico (EUS) para avaliação hepática em Maritacas (Psittacara leucophthalmus), sendo essas alterações frequentemente encontradas em aves.

Abstract:
Brazil is the 2nd largest country in bird species diversity in the world, home to approximately 1,919 species (1). One of the biggest challenges for professionals working in the field of wildlife clinic is the diagnosis of diseases, since birds mask the clinical signs and imaging tests (X-Rays and Ultrasound) are evaluated, which are fundamentals for establishing a diagnosis. The objective of this workto report the use of radiographic examination (ER) and ultrasonographic examination (EUS) for liver evaluation in Parrots (Psittacara leucophtalmus), these alterations being frequently reported in birds.
