Abstract: Currently, autism has increasingly become a topic of debate in educational and scientific contexts, seeking not only a greater understanding but also a greater perspective for the development of children, as well as to contribute to their confrontation and inclusion in society. Thus, the present work aims to conduct a bibliographic survey on research on Autism Spectrum Disorder. The study is configured as an Integrative Bibliographic Review with a qualitative approach. For the development of the research, a period of years was established for the selection of articles from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). The research on this portal was chosen because it indexes studies on health and education that are evaluated by scientific committees before their publication. These are reference data, with publications in several languages, scientifically reliable and easily accessible, with the intention of mapping the process of development of publications on the subject in the country over the last nine years. The descriptors used were “autism”, “autistic” “Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD”. To select the resulting publications, we included all theoretical articles, systematic reviews, case reports, empirical studies, among others that focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and that were published in Portuguese between 2010 and 2019. Initially, using the descriptor “Autism,” we found 286 studies. Then, we used the descriptor “ASD” and found 173 studies. Finally, we used the term “Autism Spectrum Disorder” and found 39 studies. After observing which studies were repeated and using the second inclusion criterion, publication in Portuguese, the search with the descriptor “Autism” resulted in twenty-eight studies, the word “ASD” with eight studies. And finally, the term “Autism Spectrum Disorder” with six studies. Thus, we found a total of 42 studies on the website. Based on the data collected and observation, we noticed that studies on the subject had a significant increase from 2017 to 2019. Regarding the type of study, they were grouped into four categories related to the themes presented in the titles, abstracts and methodology of the works. We observed that Articles (14) are the most used form of publication in the area, followed by Research Report (10), Case Study (05) and Literature Review (02). We noticed with this study that the works published on Autism Spectrum Disorder in the various areas are increasing more and more.
