EVALUACIÓN SOCIOECONÓMICA DE LA CERTIFICACIÓN FORESTAL EN EL EJIDO NOH BEC, QUINTANA ROO, MÉXICO.
La certificación forestal es un mecanismo del mercado cuya finalidad es favorecer la gestión sostenible de los bosques y que el consumidor pueda identificar los productos “provenientes de bosques bien manejados”. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el impacto socioeconómico de la certificación forestal en el ejido Noh Bec en Quintana Roo, México para determinar si contribuye a fortalecer el desarrollo ejidal y permite desarrollar las capacidades locales y formar nuevos actores que participen en el manejo forestal responsable.
Para la realización del proyecto se aplicaron encuestas para recabar información sobre los impactos sociales, económicos y ambientales en la comunidad.
Después del análisis de resultados se concluye que el ejido si ha tenido mejoras en aspectos sociales y la certificación ha sido una oportunidad para abrir oportunidades para acceso a proyectos que impactan al desarrollo comunitario. La percepción general indica que la certificación forestal es un avance para el ejido.

Abstract:
Forest certification is a market mechanism which purpose is to promote sustainable forest management and that the consumer can identify products "from well-managed forests". The objective of this research was to assess the socio-economic impact of forest certification on ejido Noh Bec in Quintana Roo, Mexico, to determine whether it contributes to strengthen the development of the ejido, allowing for the development of local capacities and the training of new actors involved in a responsible forest management.
For this project surveys were conducted to gather information on social, economic, and environmental impacts on the community.
The analysis of the results brings to the conclusion that ejido has have improvements in social aspects, and their certification has been a springboard to open opportunities for access to projects that impact to community’s development. The general perception indicates that the forest certification is an improvement for the ejido.
