“EU TROPEÇO, MAS NÃO DESISTO”: CONDIÇÕES MATERIAIS E IMATERIAIS QUE JUSTIFICAM A PERMANÊNCIA DE PROFESSORES DE REDES PÚBLICAS E PRIVADAS NA PROFISSÃO
O objetivo do presente texto
é apresentar os resultados da pesquisa
“condições de trabalho do professor como
produtoras e mantenedoras de práticas e
representações sobre a docência, no processo
de profissionalização docente”, a qual teve como
objetivo compreender as condições materiais
e imateriais que justificam a permanência de
professores na profissão docente, sob a ótica
da identidade profissional. No desenvolvimento
desta pesquisa, utilizou-se, para a coleta de
dados, a técnica Q. Este instrumento caracterizase
por possibilitar uma análise quali-quanti, por
meio da avaliação atribuída, por docentes, a
um conjunto de itens/afirmações. Participaram
desta pesquisa 25 docentes que atuam nos
anos finais do ensino fundamental, na cidade de
São Paulo, em instituições públicas e privadas
e que possuíam entre 5 e 10 anos de docência.
Analisou-se as respostas alocadas nas posições
10, 9 e 8, afirmações mais valorizadas pelos
docentes. Os resultados auxiliam a desmistificar
algumas crenças como, por exemplo, a de que
os docentes permanecem por não terem outra
escolha ou de que desconhecem as condições
reais em que devem desenvolver sua profissão.
Sua identidade profissional não se constitui à
revelia dessas condições materiais e imateriais,
mas no bojo delas.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is
to present the results of the research “work
conditions of the teacher as producers and
maintainers of practices and representations
about teaching, in the process of teacher
professionalization”, whose objective was
to understand the material and immaterial
conditions that justify the permanence of teachers
in the teaching profession, from the point of view
of professional identity. In the development of
this research, the Q methodology was used for
data collection. This instrument is characterized
by enabling a quali-quanti analysis, through the
evaluation attributed, by teachers, to a set of
items / affirmations. Twenty-five teachers who
work in the final years of elementary education,
in the city of São Paulo, in public and private
institutions and who had between 5 and 10
years of teaching participated in this research.
The answers allocated in positions 10, 9 and
8, statements most valued by teachers, were
analyzed. The results help to demystify some beliefs, such as that teachers remain
because they have no other choice or are unaware of the real conditions in which
they should develop their profession. Their professional identity does not constitute
themselves in the absence of these material and immaterial conditions, but in their bulk.
