ETILENO VERSUS ACETILENO NO PROCESSO DE AMADURECIMENTO DE FRUTAS: INTRODUZINDO A INVESTIGAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA NO ENSINO MÉDIO
O ensino na maioria das escolas
brasileiras tem se baseado em técnicas
de memorização que não possibilitam
correlacionar os conteúdos apresentados
com os eventos vivenciados pelos alunos.
Diversos estudiosos da educação buscam
novas metodologias na tentativa de melhorar
os índices de aproveitamento escolar e a
qualidade da educação pública brasileira.
Este trabalho relata um exemplo prático de
introdução da investigação científica no ensino
médio, resgatando saberes que fazem parte
do cotidiano dos alunos, como uma tentativa
de colaborar para a mudança do quadro atual
do ensino. Foi elaborada uma atividade com
a efetiva participação dos alunos do Colégio
Técnico da UFRRJ, como um ensaio para
introdução da investigação científica no ensino
médio. Trata-se de uma pesquisa na área de
fisiologia vegetal, especificamente sobre o
amadurecimento de frutas na ausência ou na
presença de etileno ou acetileno.

Abstract:
The teaching in most Brazilian
schools has been based on memorization
techniques that do not allow to correlate the
contents presented with the events experienced
by the students. Several education scholars
are seeking new methodologies in an attempt
to improve school achievement rates and the
quality of Brazilian public education. This paper
reports a practical example of introducing
scientific research in high school, rescuing
knowledge that is part of the daily life of students,
as an attempt to collaborate to change the
current framework of teaching. An activity was
developed with the effective participation of the
students of the UFRRJ Technical College, as an
essay for the introduction of scientific research
in high school. It is a research in the field of
plant physiology, specifically on the ripening of
fruits in the absence or presence of ethylene or
acetylene.
