ESTUDO SOCIOCOGNITIVO DA RECATEGORIZAÇÃO NAS CHARGES
Este estudo objetivou discutir a
recategorização nas charges a partir de uma
investigação sociocognitiva, considerando ser
este gênero textual formado por elementos mistos,
já que envolve, em geral, a linguagem verbal e
imagética. Destacam-se neste processo as funções
da recategorização em textos verbo-visuais, além
da metáfora como degrau para a recategorização.
Para tanto, utilizou-se o método descritivo, o qual
permitiu a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa,
entender o referido fenômeno nos textos em
destaque. Foram selecionadas cinco charges
retiradas de jornais eletrônicos de grande
circulação na cidade de Teresina/PI, produzidas
entre 2010 e 2012, nas quais a recategorização
se faz presente e cujo efeito irônico e cômico são
acionados pelo referido processo. Ao final, as
análises demonstraram que a recategorização
contribui para o efeito cômico e irônico, atuando
de modo mais peculiar neste último. As charges
estudadas têm a recategorização construída por
meio da imagem, que não é lida de forma linear,
diferenciando-se, dessa forma, da recategorização
em textos constituídos somente por elementos
verbais, em que a leitura ocorre de modo linear.

Abstract:
This study aimed to discuss the recategorization
in charges from a socio-cognitive
research, considering that this genre surrounded
by mixed elements, since it involves, in general,
verbal and imagistic language. Also in the process
of re-categorization functions in verbal-visual
texts, beyond metaphor as a step to the recategorization.
For this, we used the descriptive
method, which allows from a qualitative approach,
to understand the phenomenon that the
highlighted text. We selected two charges taken
from major newspapers in the city of Teresina / PI
produced between 2010 and 2012, in which the
re-categorization is present and whose ironic and
comic effect are triggered by that process. Finally,
the analysis showed that the re-categorization
contributes to the comic and ironic effect, acting
in a most peculiar way in the latter. The charges
have studied regrouped constructed through
image that is not read linearly, differing thereby recategorization
of texts with only verbal information,
in which reading occurs linearly.
