Abstract: This scientific initiation project aims to identify and preserve the textile heritage, through the garments (replica) made by the Fashion course students at UEM - Cianorte Regional Campus, of the couturier André Courrèges from the 1960s, pieces made of plastic materials that are present in museums and/or costume and fashion institutions. The study will investigate clothing worn from the 20th century to the present day. In this way, the research aims to identify how the pieces are preserved in museums and what their analogies are with sustainability and petroleum-derived plastic clothing. For this study, the method used will be the theoretical-practical one, firstly in a theoretical way, through studies of images/photos and bibliographical research, a survey of data will be made for greater historical and technical understandings on the subject. On the practical side, an analysis will be carried out with non-destructive textiles, more specifically detailing through the electronic thread count and sensory touch of the clothes, thus analyzing and identifying how these clothes were manufactured and used, The basic authors for this study will be Pezollo (2007), who understands fabrics and their manufacture, Merlo (2016), who studies clothing and fashion museums in Brazil and abroad, and Vasques (2018), who technically corroborates with textile analysis in museums and institutions.
