Abstract: The skeletal system is made up of bones and cartilage. This system is responsible for important functions such as protecting vital organs, promoting support and movement of the body. In this sense, the present work, aims to develop techniques for dissecation, conservation, and assembly of the anatomical structure of a cadaver of the canine species, in order to deepen the knowledge regarding the skeletal system and the tissues that compose it, as well as acquire information related to the origin of the species, races, bone pathologies and their possible treatments, which were obtained through bibliographic research with a qualitative approach. The procedures of an applied nature were performed and concluded in a satisfactory way, enabling manpulation, visualization and understanding of the division of the skeleton, one being called the axial skeleton, which is formed by the head, cervical and thoracic vertebrae, ribs, sternum, vertebrae lumbar, sacrum and coccygeal vertebrae. And the appendicular skeleton, formed by the forelimbs: scapula, humerus, radius/ulna, carpals, metacarpals and falanges, and pelvic limbs: coxal bone, femur, tíbia/fíbula, tarsi, metatarsals and phalanges. The practical study provides learning and helps to improve the technical skills used to recognize structures, facilitating the understanding of the contente covered and better development of academics.
