ESTUDO DA REPROVAÇÃO NO CURSO DE SISTEMAS DE INFORMAÇÃO DA UNIMONTES NO PERÍODO DE 2014-1 A 2019-2
Gradativamente, percebeu-se aumento do número de alunos reprovados nas disciplinas do curso de Sistemas de Informação da Unimontes. Preocupados com a evasão e proposta de medidas para a permanência do aluno do curso, a reprovação se mostra como um complexo problema que sofre influencias diversas, sendo pouco estudada. Dessa forma, considerando-se os semestres letivos de 2014-1 a 2019-2 geraram-se as médias de alunos matriculados, de aprovados e reprovados para se identificar as disciplinas e períodos letivos (1ºP a 8ºP) que mais reprovaram, assim como buscar subsídios para entender se a carga horária da disciplina agudiza os índices de reprovação. Os dados foram obtidos da Secretaria Geral da Unimontes e da Coordenação do Curso de Sistemas de Informação e, com uso da Estatística descritiva foi possível apresentar índices de alunos matriculados, aprovados e reprovados. Assim, verificou-se diminuição de alunos matriculados nos períodos centrais, do 3ºP até o 7ºP, e maior número de alunos no 1ºP quando comparado com o 8ºP. As maiores médias percentuais de aprovações são percebidas entre o 4ºP e 6ºP e o 1ºP e o 2ºP são os que mais reprovaram. As três disciplinas de 108 horas, com maiores cargas horárias, foram as que mais reprovaram: Cálculo diferencial e integral (2ºP), Matemática Computacional e Algoritmos e estruturas de Dados I (1ºP). Porém, identificaram-se consideráveis índices de reprovação em disciplinas de 36h e 72h, tanto as mais árduas e robustas quanto aquelas consideradas mais leves. Embora os resultados forneçam um panorama das reprovações no curso, eles ainda são incipientes e indicam que os estudos deverão ser categorizados, pois há grupos de disciplinas com comportamentos semelhantes e grupo com uma ampla variabilidade

Abstract:
Gradually, there was an increase in the number of students who failed the disciplines of the Information Systems course at Unimontes. Concerned with evasion and proposed measures for the permanence of the student in the course, failure is shown as a complex problem that suffers different influences, being little studied. In this way, considering the academic semesters from 2014-1 to 2019-2, the averages of students enrolled, passed and failed were generated to identify the subjects and academic periods (1st P to 8th P) that failed the most, as well as to seek subsidies to understand if the workload of the discipline exacerbates the failure rates. Data were obtained from the General Secretariat of Unimontes and from the Information Systems Course Coordination and, with the use of descriptive statistics, it was possible to present rates of enrolled, approved and failed students. Thus, there was a decrease in the number of students enrolled in the central periods, from the 3rd to the 7th, and a greater number of students in the 1st when compared to the 8th. The highest average percentages of approvals are perceived between the 4th P and 6th P and the 1st and 2nd P are the ones that failed the most. The three subjects of 108 hours, with the highest workloads, were the ones that failed the most: Differential and Integral Calculus (2nd P), Computational Mathematics and Algorithms and Data Structures I (1st P). However, considerable failure rates were identified in subjects of 36h and 72h, both the most arduous and robust and those considered lighter. Although the results provide an overview of failures in the course, they are still incipient and indicate that the studies should be categorized, as there are groups of disciplines with similar behaviors and a group with a wide variability.
