Abstract: The construction industry is a large generator of harmful waste, resulting from numerous production processes. Porcelain polishing residue (RPP) is one of the residues derived from the ceramic industry. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the use of RPP as a supplementary material in the production of concrete, evaluating its influence on mechanical and durability requirements. The methodology adopted consisted of carrying out RPP characterization tests, testing in the hardened state of the concrete (mechanical resistance to uniaxial compression and durability analysis). The RPP levels incorporated in the composition were 10% and 20% in relation to the cement mass, in mixtures with plasticizing additives. The porcelain polishing residue with a content of 10% and 20%, considering the variation in the water/cement ratio, achieved an increase of around 20% in the concrete's strength. In the durability analysis, the marine environment had the greatest loss of mechanical resistance, corresponding to 16.9%, followed by the subsoil with 8.53% and exposure to carbon dioxide with a drop of 1.63%.
