Abstract: Background: Mastery of the pathophysiology of pyrexia is essential for the development of natural antipyretic medicines. Objective: to elucidate the physiological, cellular, immunological and neuroscientific mechanisms involved in pyrexia in an experimental way. Methodology: This is a Literature Review, based on the acronym TQO and including the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Capes Periódicos, Google Scholar, Embase, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Science Direct and Scopus databases. Terms of interest found in the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) were used as descriptors. Results and Discussion: Fever consists of the congregation of natural mechanisms induced from physiological, cellular, biochemical and neuroscientific conditions in research for the development of natural antipyretic medicines. Conclusion: experimental pyrexia research is based on the development of knowledge about health and biological sciences in the constitution of natural medicines and reducing Drug Reactions and Interactions (ADRs and IMs, respectively).
