Abstract: In recent years, social changes have promoted a society with services available 24 hours a day, affecting approximately 20 million Brazilians engaged in nocturnal activities. It is important to emphasize that humans have a biological clock that regulates internal circadian rhythms, and any disruptions to this clock can lead to health problems. Night shift workers face significant challenges due to changes in their daily routines, such as the reversal of the sleep cycle, sleeping during the day, and working at night. These changes can result in hormonal imbalances and impact the mental health of healthcare professionals. Therefore, it is essential to analyze the perceptions of nursing professionals regarding night work. In this sense, it is expected to discuss the topic, as well as its social implications and consequences for physical and mental health.
