ESTRÉS ACADÉMICO Y LOCUS DE CONTROL EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS: UN ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO
Los objetivos de la presente investigación fueron: a) comparar el estrés académico y locus de control, entre hombres y mujeres; y b) comparar el estrés académico y locus de control, entre los estudiantes de diferentes licenciaturas. Se trató de un estudio transversal, descriptivo y comparativo. Realizado en un Centro Universitario del Estado de México. Participaron 288 estudiantes (61.1% mujeres) entre 18 y 25 años (20.51 ± 1.90); se realizó un muestreo aleatorio estratificado por licenciatura (Administración, Contaduría, Derecho, Informática, Psicología, Ingeniería en Computación). Se aplicó el inventario SISCO de estrés académico y la escala Locus de control-bienestar subjetivo. Los estudiantes dieron su consentimiento para participar. Se realizaron análisis comparativos con el estadístico t-Student y ANOVA. En cuanto al estrés académico entre hombres y mujeres se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas. Asimismo, respecto al locus de control externo, se observaron diferencias estadísticas significativas entre los estudiantes de las diferentes licenciaturas.

Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: a) to compare academic stress and locus of control, between men and women; and b) compare academic stress and locus of control among students of different degrees. It was a cross-sectional, descriptive and comparative study. It was carried out at a University Campus in the State of Mexico. 288 students (61.1% female) between 18 and 25 years old participated ( 20.51 ± 1.90); a stratified random sampling was carried out in different degrees (Administration, Accounting, Law, Informatics, Psychology, Computer Engineering). The SISCO inventory of academic stress and the Locus of control subjective well-being scale were applied. The students voluntarily agreed to participate. Comparative analyzes were performed with the t-Student statistic and ANOVA. Regarding academic stress between men and women, statistically significant differences were found. Likewise, in relation to the external locus of control, significant statistical differences were observed between the students of the different degrees.
