Abstract: Patient safety in the preparation of chemotherapy drugs in hospital oncology pharmacies is one of the pillars of health care, considering the high risk associated with antineoplastic drugs. This expanded summary aims to present the main safety strategies in chemotherapy preparations adopted in oncology pharmacies for patients undergoing oncology treatment, in this context highlighting the role of the pharmacist, control processes and error prevention practices. With the objective of identifying patient safety strategies in the preparation of chemotherapy drugs in a hospital oncology pharmacy. The specific objectives include describing the main safety strategies adopted in the preparation of chemotherapy drugs in a hospital oncology pharmacy; highlight the importance of continuous training of the pharmaceutical and multidisciplinary team in promoting safe practices; Evaluate the effectiveness of procedures that guarantee the quality, traceability and safety of the process, from prescription to dispensing of antineoplastic medication. The methodology is applied through the method of an integrative review of similar literature, based on 13 articles published between 2020 and 2025, with a qualitative approach informing the main safety strategies in chemotherapy preparations of a descriptive nature based on the analysis of the selected articles that served as a reference for the construction of the manuscript. The results and discussion showed that the standardization of protocols, the use of technologies, continuous training of the team and the traceability of processes are fundamental to minimizing risks. It is concluded that the implementation of safety strategies strengthens the quality of care, reduces adverse events and promotes greater therapeutic efficacy.
