Abstract: This article discusses strategies for involving local families in the resettlement process. Our country has already hosted numerous projects, which involve the displacement of the population to make room for them, but the law on displacement is recent. These displacements, better known as resettlement, devastate the country's communities. It was a study that took place in a resettled area in Namina-Mecuburi, Nampula. Ultimately, the aim was to answer the following question: How do local families get involved in the resettlement process? From this question emerged the general objective: to analyze the strategies for involving local families in the resettlement process, and to achieve this objective, four specific objectives were outlined: identify the level of involvement of local families in the resettlement process; describe the involvement of local families in the resettlement process; assess the involvement of local families in the resettlement process; and propose ways to improve the involvement of local families in the resettlement process. The research questions are: How is local families involved in the resettlement process? What is the level of involvement of local families in the resettlement process? How should the resettlement of local families happen? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the family resettlement process? What impact does not involving families have in resettlement processes? How do local bodies analyze the resettlement of families for local development? Regarding the methodology, the inductive method was privileged, a qualitative research because the data were analyzed and interpreted in a qualitative way, while for the participants, convenience sampling was chosen and in terms of objectives, it was exploratory. However, to support the work, several references were used. Based on them, it was found that: the involvement of families in this process is not properly fulfilled. The resettled people felt forced into the resettlement process due to their incomplete satisfaction, and even felt unprotected because those responsible for caring for them were concerned about their financial satisfaction and development. Therefore, the strategies or means used to carry out this resettlement process must be observed/reviewed, as it involves the frank involvement of families.
